K-6 Report Card Re-Design

The purpose of the report card is to communicate the student’s progression towards learning goals, highlight strengths, and guide improvement.

Why are report cards changing?
Boise School District has updated the K-6 report card over the past year to more closely align to our Idaho Core Standards in English Language Arts (ELA), Math, Social Studies, Science, Health P.E., and Music. The area referred to in the past as Work Habits and Conduct has been changed to Traits of a Successful Learner.

The Standards on the report card reflect the instructional alignment. In order to prepare students to be college and career ready, it is important to provide feedback based on their performance on the Standards. Evidence of student learning will be gathered through various activities that align to the Standards. Through the collection of evidence teachers will be able to report back information to students and parents based on how they performed on the Standards.
